Sam Worthington, known for his role in the Avatar film franchise, has signed on to star in the Netflix limited series I Will Find You, based on Harlan Coben’s bestselling novel.
The eight-episode series, ordered in November, marks the first U.S. adaptation of a Coben novel under his exclusive deal with Netflix.
Sam Worthington will portray David Burroughs, an innocent father wrongfully serving a life sentence for the murder of his son—a crime he didn’t commit but punishes himself for daily. Upon receiving evidence that his child might still be alive, David embarks on a daring prison break to uncover the truth.
I Will Find You joins a lineup of previous Netflix adaptations of Harlan Coben novels, spanning four languages and various countries. Notable titles include the British hit Fool Me Once, as well as Stay Close, The Stranger, The Innocent, Gone for Good, Hold Tight, The Woods, and the recently released Missing You.
Best known for his leading role in James Cameron’s Avatar series, Sam Worthington also recently starred in Kevin Costner’s Horizon Parts 1 and 2.
