“On Swift Horses” is a period drama film directed by Daniel Minahan, based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Shannon Pufahl, starring Daisy Edgar-Jones as Muriel, a young newlywed in 1950s California who becomes fascinated with horse racing and develops a double life involving gambling and a complex relationship with a mysterious figure, played by Jacob Elordi, while her husband, played by Will Poulter, remains largely unaware, and Sasha Calle portrays a supporting character whose role contributes to the exploration of Muriel’s burgeoning independence and the film’s themes of identity and desire.
