Oscar winner Chloé Zhao, a lifelong Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan, is set to direct the pilot for a Buffy revival at Hulu. The follow-up series, nearing a pilot order, is written by Nora and Lilla Zuckerman (Poker Face). While initial reports indicated Sarah Michelle Gellar might reprise her role as Buffy Summers, her involvement is not yet confirmed.
The project comes from Buffy studio 20th Television and Disney sibling Searchlight TV, where Zhao has a first-look deal.
