Blue Beetle is the new superhero title of DC Studios, based on the DC Comics character Jaime Reyes / Blue Beetle. Under the direction of Angel Manuel Soto, the fourteenth installment of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) stars Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes / Blue Beetle alongside Adriana Barraza, Damián Alcázar, Raoul Max Trujillo, Susan Sarandon, and George Lopez.
When will Blue Beetle be released?
Blue Beetle premiered in El Paso, Texas on August 15, 2023, and is scheduled to be released in the United States on August 18, 2023, by Warner Bros. Pictures.

- Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes / Blue Beetle:
A teenage college graduate who gains superpowers when an alien Blue Beetle scarab grafts onto him, forming a powerful reconfiguring exoskeleton around his body. - Adriana Barraza as Nana: Jaime’s grandmother
- Damián Alcázar as Alberto Reyes: Jaime’s father
- Raoul Max Trujillo as Conrad Carapax / Indestructible Man: A bodyguard working for Victoria Kord.
- Susan Sarandon as Victoria Kord:
A businesswoman and the sister of Ted Kord who is hellbent on acquiring the Scarab. Sarandon says Victoria represents the theme of “imperialism in the name of democracy”, and that she is driven by a need to be ambitious and prove herself, after her brother mysteriously disappears and leaves his company behind. - George Lopez as Rudy Reyes: Jaime’s uncle
Other members of the Reyes family include: Elpidia Carrillo as Rocio Reyes, Jaime’s mother; and Belissa Escobedo as Milagro Reyes, Jaime’s younger sister. Additionally, Bruna Marquezine portrays Jenny Kord, Victoria’s niece and Ted’s daughter, who is also Jaime’s love interest; Harvey Guillén portrays Dr. Sanchez, a scientist who works for Victoria; and Becky G voices Khaji-Da, an entity that imbues and controls the Scarab.

What happens in Blue Beetle?
Recent college grad Jaime Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab. When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Super Hero BLUE BEETLE.
