Maya Hawke attended the world premiere of “Wildcat” at the 50th Telluride Film Festival on September 01, 2023, in Telluride, Colorado. The movie is also scheduled to be shown at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival on September 11, 2023.
Based on the life of novelist Flannery O’Connor, the biopic film “Wildcat” stars Maya as the Southern writer. Her father Ethan directed, produced, and co-wrote the script along with Shelby Gaines.
The film also stars “Licorice Pizza” breakout Cooper Hoffman, son of late Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman. Laura Linney, Philip Ettinger, Rafael Casal, Steve Zahn, Willa Fitzgerald, Alessandro Nivola, and Vincent D’Onofrio round out the cast.
Ethan Hawke previously worked with his daughter Maya on the limited series “The Good Lord Bird,” but he is directing her for the first time with “Wildcat.”
