Morena Baccarin and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson have joined the cast of Travis Knight’s live-action “Masters of the Universe” movie from Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel. Baccarin will play The Sorceress, while Jóhannesson will portray Malcolm/Fisto.

They join Nicholas Galitzine (He-Man), Camila Mendes (Teela), Alison Brie (Evil-Lyn), Jared Leto (Skeletor), Idris Elba (Duncan/Man-at-Arms), Sam C. Wilson (Trap Jaw), Hafthor Bjornsson (Goat Man), and Kojo Attah (Tri-Klops). The screenplay is by Chris Buttler, with a first draft by David Callaham and Aaron and Adam Nee.
Baccarin’s recent credits include “Elevation,” “Millers in Marriage,” “Deadpool,” and “Homeland” (Emmy nominated). She will next star in “The Wrecking Crew.”
Jóhannesson will next be seen as Copperhead in Marvel’s “Captain America: Brave New World.” His other credits include “Succession,” “Vikings: Valhalla,” and “Game of Thrones.”
