The Hollywood Legion Theater hosted a special screening of “My Dead Friend Zoe” on February 24, 2025, with cast members Sonequa Martin-Green, Natalie Morales, Ed Harris, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and director/star Kyle Hausmann-Stokes in attendance.












“My Dead Friend Zoe,” a comedy-drama directed by and starring Kyle Hausmann-Stokes, follows Merit, a U.S. Army veteran portrayed by Sonequa Martin-Green, who, haunted by her deceased friend Zoe (Natalie Morales), navigates strained family relationships and becomes the caretaker for her estranged Vietnam veteran grandfather (Ed Harris), leading to a journey of healing for both; the film, which also features Morgan Freeman and blends dark comedic tones with themes of PTSD and grief, premiered at SXSW 2024, winning the Audience Award, and is set for a U.S. theatrical release on February 28, 2025.
