Netflix has released an official trailer for its upcoming YA fantasy film The School for Good and Evil.
The film is adapted from Soman Chainani’s best-selling YA fantasy series, by the same name. The book has sold over 2.5 million copies and has been translated into 30 languages.

Best friends and misfits Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso) and Agatha (Sofia Wylie) couldn’t be any different. Sophie’s a golden-haired seamstress who dreams of becoming a princess, while Agatha has a grim aesthetic perfect for an aspiring witch. One night under a blood red moon, a powerful force sweeps the two girls away to the School for Good and Evil — where the true stories behind every great fairy tale begin. Upon their arrival, something doesn’t seem right. Sophie is dropped into the School for Evil, led by the glamourous and acid-tongued Lady Lesso (Charlize Theron), and Agatha is enrolled in the School for Good, overseen by the sunny and kind Professor Dovey (Kerry Washington). As they navigate their diverged destinies and attend classes with the children of other famous storybook characters, the two friends must find a way back to their rightful schools.
Joining Caruso, Wylie, Theron and Washington on the roster are Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Flatters, Kit Young, Peter Serafinowicz, Rob Delaney, Mark Heap, Patti LuPone and Rachel Bloom.
The School for Good and Evil premieres on Netflix on October 21. Meanwhile, you can check out the new trailer below:
