Caitríona Balfe is a BAFTA award winner, four-time Golden Globe nominee, and 2017 Oscar Wilde Award recipient.Balfe was recently seen in Kenneth Branagh’s directed and produced semi-autobiographical
Belfast. Starring with Jamie Dornan, they played a glamorous working-class couple caught up in the mayhem of the late 1960s in Dublin. The film first premiered at the Telluride Film Festival to rave reviews and won a BAFTA for Outstanding British Film, an AFI Special Award, Critics’ Circle Movie Award for Best Acting Ensemble, and a Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay. The film also won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and was nominated for Best Motion Picture of the Year.Caitriona was individually nominated for a BAFTA, SAG Award, and a Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress. Balfe recently acquired the film rights to adapt author Sarah Crossan’s novel “Here is the Beehive.” The narrative centers around ‘Ana’ and ‘Connor,’ who have been having an affair for three years. Along with producing, Balfe may also star.In 2019, Balfe starred as the female lead opposite Matt Damon and Christian Bale in the Oscar-nominated film Ford v Ferrari. Balfe also voiced the role of ‘Tavra’ in “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance,” a 10-episode prequel to Jim Henson’s “The Dark Crystal.”In 2016, Balfe co-starred opposite George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Jack O’Connell in the thriller Money Monster, directed by Jodie Foster, which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival. Other credits include Escape Plan, Now You See Me, Super 8, and the limited digital series “H+.”
